Unlike traditional agencies, UrgentCover gives you direct control. You set the hourly rates, you review locum profiles and qualifications, and you choose who to book. There are no hefty agency fees, just a small service fee per booking. We provide the platform and tools; you make the hiring decisions.
Yes, UrgentCover is designed for all types and sizes of dental practices, from small single-chair practices to large multi-location groups.
Visit our website (urgentcover.co.uk) and click on the "Sign Up" button. You'll need to provide information about your practice, including your address, contact details, and CQC Provider ID. The registration process is quick and straightforward.
You'll need to provide your practice name, address, contact details (phone and email), CQC Provider ID, website (if applicable), and details of a designated contact person. You'll also create a username and password for your account.
No. It is free to register. You only pay a small service fee when you successfully book a locum.

Finding Locums

You post a job specifying the type, dates/times, and hourly rate. Our system then automatically notifies qualified, nearby locums who match your criteria. The first locum to accept the job confirms the booking.
Once you're logged in, go to your dashboard and click on "Post a Job". You'll be guided through a simple process to enter the job details, including dates, times, required job type, and hourly rate.
Yes, you have complete control over the hourly rate you offer for each job posting.
Once you post a job, nearby, qualified locums are instantly notified via SMS/WhatsApp. The first locum who opens the secure link and accepts the job confirms the booking. You both receive confirmation.
No, we will send you an invoice that will fall due after the completion of the job.
Direct contact before booking is not permitted for security and privacy reasons. Once a job is accepted, secure communication channels may become available within the platform if necessary.
You can cancel a booking through the platform. We will inform the locum of the cancellation. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding cancellation policies and potential fees for late cancellations.
If a locum cancels, we will notify you immediately. The job will automatically become available again for other locums to accept.
You can leave feedback for the locum after the job is completed. For serious concerns, please contact UrgentCover support directly.
